When I moved to Charleston, it was essentially on a whim. I had been telling myself for years I wanted to move back South (I went to school in North Carolina), but it never seemed like the right time. Finally, it hit me that if I didn’t at least try a move, it might be too late. And two weeks later, Duke and I were on a plane to Charleston! I didn’t know anyone here and had never really visited except for a short trip when I was little, so this was all very new to me. Since the move was so quick, I didn’t really spend time picking out furnishings for my apartment – it was more just get the essentials – bed frame, dresser, and I’d decorate once I got there.
Well, almost 3 years in, and I still only had a plain bed frame, dresser, and my sheets and comforter from college. So when Annie Selke reached out and asked me to refresh my bedroom for their blog (they’re featuring one influencer a month) I jumped at the chance to give my room the makeover it deserved. I was beyond thrilled to have an excuse to redecorate my room and truly honored they wanted to feature me. This was, literally, a dream come true and I went straight to my “home decor” Pinterest board for all of the inspiration.
I knew I wanted a blue and white theme – shocking, I know 🙂 And with the breadth of Annie Selke products, (from bedding, to bath, to rugs, pillows, and even dog accessories) I was able to fully transform my space!
The duvet was the first thing I picked out – I loved the classic and timeless look of the Trio Bedding and from there I was able to easily pick out complimenting pieces. I obviously had to incorporate a monogram somewhere in my room and decided to switch it up by having Annie Selke create the monogram in a lighter blue for contrast. We also added a light blue blanket for extra snuggle time to the bed and the online photo does not do it justice – the color is even more beautiful in person! I truly love how the bed turned out – and I think Duke does too!
I also just HAD to get their Sheepy Fleece Robe, with my monogram, of course, and let me just say it is the coziest and softest robe I have ever worn. I honestly didn’t even want to take it off after the shoot was over!
One of my absolute favorite pieces I received is this denim rug. It has a sort of gingham/check pattern, which I love, and incorporates so many different shades of blue. I think it helps to tie the whole room together. That, along with Duke’s new bed, truly make the room feel more cozy. It honestly makes me so happy to walk in my bedroom now and see the transformation.
I’m so in love with how the entire room came together so perfectly and so grateful to the Annie Selke team for helping turn my dreams into a reality!
