A Very Vineyard Vines Holiday

I look forward to Vineyard Vines’ holiday collection every year. This year they invited friends of the brand and bloggers, to shoot their new holiday pieces at Rhode Island’s iconic Ocean House beach hotel. It seriously looked like they had the absolute best time –  a secret dream of mine is to one day be asked to participate in an experience like this, especially with a brand as amazing and positive as Vineyard Vines.

When the holiday collection was released I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot some of my favorite pieces. I felt the Merry Plaid Skirt would be perfect for the local tree farm and I loved including Duke in this shoot with a matching bow tie. He was seriously such a trooper – I mean look how many pose changes I made him do 🙂

For the Blackwatch Plaid Velvet Dress – which is AMAZING – I wanted to do something different and change it up from my regular Charleston downtown street scenes. Every year locals (we don’t know who!) put up festive trees on Folly Beach and this year I was determined to see them. I thought it would be such a unique place for this shoot and I love the contrast of a Christmas Tree planted on the beach! I had an idea in my head of how I wanted the shoot to go, but with a puppy on a beach, there are always a lot of unknowns and distractions.

In addition to the dress I also brought along my new Fair Isle Sweater Pullover, as I knew it would be a little chillier by the water. And I’m so glad I did! Duke and I got some really great photos in both looks and it was really fun to see my vision come to life!
